2004

This year we visited less ruins and things, me and Kate went to watch the Cyprus W.R.C. (bloody good it was too) Saw a snake. Bumped into the infamous Crocodile George who drove the jeep when we went to the rally. We also spent a bit of time getting married.

The wedding was excellent. The meal was fantastic. The ‘stag night’ was eventful.

Who can forget watching Yordi (juices of a laaaddyyy) from the bar windmilling his punches after getting into a fight with the guy who ran the bar next door? I’ll never forget the garlic crab starter from the meal we had before playing golf, more garlic than crab. Also, I think I only need to say, Anne Frank, and everyone will know what I mean. ( if you don’t, well, you had to be there really)

The wedding went very well, as far as I can remember. Another thing you may not know was that I had to keep the details of my Wedding Suit as much of a secret as Kate did for her dress. James was well known for his fondness of randomly buying suits, and if he had known I wasn’t going to be wearing a standard black suit as I said I was going to, he’d have spent days trying to hunt down a matching one.

Cuss turned up clean shaven for the first time in years as his mum promised to pay for his next tattoo if he shaved for the wedding. He also made good friends with the ‘fun in the sun’ girls.

My brother managed to turn up to be my best man, he was working for a company at the time that were looking after some British sports peeps that were training in Cyprus so he was officially working for that week and flew over on the same flight as the Cypriot president. During his flight the president went around the plane chatting to people and asking them about their journey, my brother told him about his job and attending our wedding so the president passed on his blessings for our wedding. So yea we had a presidential blessed wedding in a Byzantine church and our photographs taken by the pillar were St Paul was allegedly flogged for preaching Christianity.

Those are the main memories from that eventful year, I’m sure there’s more but they don’t come to mind right now.
